Yes — for every UK trade page (plumbers, electricians, builders, gas engineers, tilers, joiners, decorators, handymen). Wedge calculates the 20% CIS deduction on labour only (never materials), and generates reverse-charge VAT wording for VAT-registered B2B construction work. Yes. Wedge supports three input methods, all live: free-text WhatsApp messages, voice notes (AI transcribes and structures them), and photo invoicing (snap a handwritten job sheet, AI extracts the customer, job, parts, and amount). Useful when you're working in gloves, dust, or noisy conditions where typing is awkward.

It keeps the lights on. We don't charge subscriptions, set-up fees, or card-on-file fees — only the 1% (capped at £50 per invoice) when you actually get paid. The model lines up our incentives with yours: we don't earn unless you do, and big-job invoices never get punished.

Your customers receive a WhatsApp message with a professional invoice and a secure payment link powered by Stripe. They pay by card — no app needed on their end either. Your sort code and account number also print on every invoice, so customers can pay by free bank transfer if they prefer.

Wedge sends automatic payment reminders on your behalf. You'll get a WhatsApp message when they pay, or if the invoice goes overdue. And because we only charge when you get paid, you owe us nothing on unpaid invoices.

Yes. Toggle VAT on during sign-up and Wedge will automatically calculate and display VAT on every invoice. Mixed-rate jobs (some lines at 20%, others at 5% or zero-rated) are supported per line item.

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles billions of pounds every year. We never store card details. Wedge AI Ltd is on the ICO public register, reference ZC143076.

Wedge keeps digital records of every invoice, expense and mileage entry as you create them — the digital-record-keeping side of Making Tax Digital. We're not HMRC-recognised filing software (the quarterly submission still flows through FreeAgent, Xero, QuickBooks, GoSimpleTax or whichever tool your accountant uses), but the CSV exports we produce drop straight into those tools without any reformatting.
